Long before taking over Restaurant Toscana, owner and head chef Jimmy Karaj built his career around creating places where people could relax, celebrate, and enjoy great food together. The trick is not only to present stunning dishes, but also to ensure guests return again and again.
Throughout his career, which has included working alongside Michelin-starred chefs Stephen Terry and Giorgio Locatelli, Jimmy has developed a real passion for authentic dining, warm service, and the kind of atmosphere that makes people feel instantly welcome.
And now food lovers in and around Sidcup can experience this authentic cuisine and personal service for themselves at Restaurant Toscana.
Jimmy has put a lot into the look and future of the restaurant since he took ownership. The space has been lovingly refurbished while retaining the cosy charm that regular guests know so well. One of the biggest changes has been the introduction of a brand-new professional chef’s kitchen, designed to raise the bar even further and enable the team to deliver exceptional food at every service.
The Toscana dining experience starts behind the scenes. Fresh ingredients, talented chefs, and a kitchen designed to support quality all contribute greatly to the experience guests have at the table.
The menu continues to celebrate the very best of Italian cuisine, bringing flavours from across the country to Sidcup. Each dish is a nod to tradition and quality with handmade pasta, fresh fish, traditional meat dishes, decadent desserts and a well-curated wine list.
And don’t forget the Toscana signature dishes! For starters, pan-fried scallops served with a celery puree, julienne celery, and a rocket salad seasoned with a saffron vinaigrette. To follow, pan-fried rack of lamb with a mustard-and-herb crust, served with seasonal vegetables, creamy mash, and a balsamic and veal sauce.
